On August 4th 2019, the last day of Arklow Town’s Maritime Festival, which takes place on the August bank holiday weekend, a number of events were hosted around the harbour area.
Aside from the usual activities to be found at the carnival area, there was a demonstration of a Viking attack, a showing of how to deal with saucepan fire and the consequences of trying to put it out with water (presented by the fire brigade), the blessing of the fleet, as well as a concert performed by Arklow Ukulele Players.
